Welcome

New to First Baptist?

Dear newcomers,

We extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to our church family! Here at FBC there are plenty of ways to get involved. We encourage you to join us for worship on Sundays at 11:00 a.m.  Bible Study for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m. Youth Group for grades 6-12, Children's Ministry ages 4-11, nursery available for ages birth to 3 years during both Bible study and worship time.

On the fourth Sunday of the month, children ages 4-11 stay in worship for "Parenting in the Pew", based on the book, Parenting in the Pew: Guiding Your Children into the Joy of Worship.

On fifth Sundays we have a Church-wide fellowship with either a breakfast or coffee and donuts, in place of Bible Study in our Wayland Fellowship Hall. Please join us!

We would love for you to fill out a visitor card located in the back of pew in front of you, and bring it to the Sanctuary entrance at the end of service and receive a gift which includes information about upcoming events.

Blessings,

Here at First Baptist, our Children's Ministry is "First Kids!" The children attend Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays, and during worship, Ms. Jamie has a Children's Message, then the kids are dismissed to Children's Church. On the 4th Sunday of the month, children remain in the Sanctuary for "Parenting in the Pew", you can learn more about this program by reading the book "Parenting in the Pew: Guiding Your Children into the Joy of Worship", by Robbie Castleman. First Kids meet on Sunday evenings  from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Pick up and Drop off is at the Portico entrance.

TOP SECRET:  A 5-Week Series from the Old Testament on Esther

SERIES OVERVIEW: Can you imagine if Esther and Mordecai were spies sent on a mission to infiltrate the palace and thwart Haman’s plot to harm the Jewish people? It might sound like a stretch, but God was working behind the scenes the entire time, even though God’s name is missing from the official records! In this 5-week series, kids will learn that God gives me a mission, nothing will turn me away from God, I can stand up for God and others, I can follow God even when nobody’s watching, and God can send me to make peace.

Our First Babies are always in need of a special person to love on them on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School and Worship hours. If you are willing to assist Ms. Racheal during this time, please click on the link below:

FBCNW Youth Luminary Sale

The Youth will sell luminaries which will be on display during the Lovefeast Sun., December 7, and the evening Cantata Service, Sat., Dec. 13.  The youth will be at a table in the narthex and portico for orders to be placed on Sundays November 16, 23 and November 30 before and after the worship service.  The cost is $10 per name. Please make checks payable to First Baptist Church with “Luminary” in the memo line.    If you cannot order on a Sunday after worship please contact Patricia at pturner285@gmail.com or 704-734-4644. Sunday, November 30 is the final deadline to order a luminary.

Thank you for your support of the youth programs and ministries as well as honoring or memorializing these special people in your lives.

Our youth just participated in the CBFNC Youth Beach Retreat where the theme was The Voice of Truth. During the weekend they learned about Naming the Noise, Seeking Truth in a Digital World, Who Speaks into Your Life? and Knowing What God Desires.  Also the youth group made a covenant together based on these areas and the theme verse from Philippians 4:8.  Your luminary purchase helps provide these life giving learning opportunities for their faith journey.  Ask these youth about their experience and how you can apply these themes in your faith journey and daily lives.

Thanksgiving Blessings,

Patricia and FBCNW Youth
